13. C-3PO got his memory wiped but then got it back

So our heroes must read something in the Sith language, which 3PO is able to translate. Unfortunately, his programming prevents him from doing so. (Who did this? It doesn’t matter.) This forces them to reboot 3PO in order to override his programming, and he will be destroyed as a result of it. It appears sad; 3PO receives an emotional send-off as a result of it. The film then pulls a full-length JK at the end when not only is it played for laughs from there on out, but also because 3PO’s memories are restored thanks to a backup on R2D2’s hard drive.
