In Attack of the Clones, Owen became Anakin Skywalker’s step-brother when Cliegg Lars married Shmi Skywalker. Many believed that this was the end of the idea of Owen Kenobi. But the Disney+ series kind of puts things to rest in an unexpected way.

Fortunately, Abel G. Peña’s Lone Wolf: A Tale of Obi-Wan and Luke might clear things up. The short story was published on the official Star Wars website in 2015, revealing that Owen Kenobi’s brother “Owen” is nothing more than a future vision. Obi-Wan receives an origin in the tale, which establishes he was born on Stewjon and then brought to Coruscant for Jedi training after his birth.

Obi-Wan believes that his visions of Owen Kenobi were telling him he was going back to Stewjon to see his relatives, as he did in A New Hope. Instead, Obi-Wan had been seeing the future with Luke and Owen on Tatooine all along.
